GSFA will be offering a floral design evaluation class entitled "Evaluation: Understanding Floral Designs". GSFA will be presenting this program for GSFA members on January 17th at 10am. The program is being presented in an effort to educate and elevate GSFA members in evaluating/judging floral designs.

The program is based on the Principles and Elements of design and understanding their relationship with one another. This is the fountain of any floral design. The program will conclude with a three part exam: a written, a design and an evaluation exam. There will also be a written exam covering the Principles and Elements of design and on design techniques. Members will be provided with a resource guide prior to the program in order to prepare.

Each member will be asked to complete two designs on site. An important part of understanding floral design is the ability to use the principles and elements of design correctly. The final part of the exam will consist of each member viewing and evaluating designs that will be provided.

GSFA feels that this area of education is crucial for our industry. It’s the basis of our industry and the key to our survival. Even those who aren't interesting in becoming an evaluator, this is a valuable resource. It offers tools of education that all designers should have and experience. GSFA will be using this program as a tool to certify its members as evaluators for it's design competitions. It is very important that GSFA have qualified evaluators across the state. Each member will be required to achieve a minimum of 95% on each part of the exam in order to be certified by the program and by GSFA.

GSFA will be presenting "Evaluation: Understanding Floral Designs" in conjunction with District III of GSFA. The program will be held in Barnesville, Ga on January 17th at 10am. The fee for the class is $75.00 per member. Fifteen dollars of the fee is for the program recourse guide and after expenses of the program, the balance will be going to District III 's Education Fund and GSFA's new "Julian Bridges Educational Fund".

The class will be limited to 30 members. It will be on a first come- first serve basis. Members interested in enrolling for this program should contact
